The county is home to thirty-two (32) Blue Lodges, with a combined membership of over 3900.

January 7, 1785
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart received his Fellowcraft degree.

January 26,1887
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle received his Entered Apprentice degree.

January 2, 1901
U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt received his Entered Apprentice degree in Oyster Bay, New York.
